The essentials
Where is the hotel?
1930 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. On Monterey Street, a mile from downtown San Luis Obispo.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. Early check-in is $25 and late check-out is $25, both subject to availability.
What are the lobby hours?
The lobby is open 7:00am – 11:00pm. After-hours operator: (916) 640-0835 — call if you will arrive after hours and we will make arrangements.
How far is downtown San Luis Obispo?
About a mile, on Monterey Street. The Mission is the same distance, and Cal Poly is a little over three miles.
Is San Luis Obispo a good stop on a road trip?
It sits roughly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, which makes it either a destination or the best place to break the drive. Pismo Beach is 13 miles away and Morro Bay 14.
Costs
Is there a resort or amenity fee?
No. There is no resort fee and no amenity fee. Breakfast, parking, Wi-Fi, the pool and the fitness centre are all included in the room rate.
What taxes are added?
Transient Occupancy Tax of 13.695%, charged on the room rate only, and shown before you confirm.
Is a deposit taken?
All reservations are guaranteed with a valid credit card, and a $100 security deposit is held at check-in for incidentals, then released.
Is parking free?
Yes — free, on site.
What is the cancellation policy?
It varies by rate. The terms that apply are shown when you book and repeated in your confirmation email. If you are unsure, call us and we will check.
Rooms
Which rooms have a kitchen?
Several — the King Studio and King Suite Kitchenettes, the Double Queen Kitchenette and Double Queen Suite Kitchenette, and the Double King Studio Kitchen. They are what make a longer stay workable here.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes — every room has air conditioning.
Do you have an accessible room?
Yes — the ADA Double Room. Please request it when you book, as it cannot be held otherwise.
Which rooms sleep more than two?
The Double Queen rooms and the Double King Studio Kitchen sleep up to four.
Are the suites upstairs?
Yes — the suites are on the upper floor. If stairs are a problem, tell us when you book and we will find you something on the ground floor.
Practical
Is breakfast included?
Yes — a complimentary hot breakfast, served daily from 7:00am – 10:00am.
What are the pool hours?
The outdoor pool and hot tub are open 9:00am – 10:00pm.
Is there a gym?
Yes — a fitness centre on site.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. $25 per night, capped at $75 per stay, up to two well-behaved dogs per room with a 40 lb combined limit. Dogs only. Service animals are always welcome and exempt from the fee.
How often is the room cleaned?
Housekeeping is on request rather than automatic — just ask the front desk and we will come by.
Can I hold a meeting here?
Two connected rooms of 459 sq ft each combine into one 918 sq ft space for up to 50 guests. It suits a meeting or a training day rather than a reception.
