For your first day, head to Cambria for the Pinedorado Days 2022 – a traditional labor day weekend event held each year at this seaside village in San Luis Obispo. Now on its 72nd year, this year’s event is dubbed as “Roaring Back” after the event’s one year of hiatus due to the pandemic. It’s held each year on Labor Day weekend at the Pinedorado Grounds.
The weekend of activities kicks off at 9:30 am on September 3rd with a Parade featuring floats, bands, dancers, clown cars, and the Lions Club Calliope along the Cambria’s Main St. Afterwhich, you can head to the Pinedorado grounds for food, drinks, live music, dancing, carnival rides, and all sorts of family-friendly fun for everyone to enjoy up to Labor Day itself, September 4.
On Sunday, September 4, from 10am to 4pm, catch the 14 Annual Cambria Pinedorado Car Show at the Vets Hall parking lot before heading out to the carnival or maybe the beach this time for some down time. The show draws over 150 cars of all makes and models with classifications and awards for: Mustangs, Corvettes, T-Birds, Foreign Cars, and more.
You can also catch the Pinedorado Follies for their production of Cambria OZ. The show will run on September 2, 3 & 4 at the Cambria Vets Hall at 7pm.

For the ultimate car show experience, nothing comes close to the National Motor Fest. Formally known as Cali Auto Fest, the show features over 750 cars, trucks, specialty vehicles, race cars, boats, off-road vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, trailers, and even helicopters and more. Additionally, there will be helicopter landings, smash a car with a sledgehammer event, an exhaust competition, a mobile dyno, and vehicle limbo.
Bring your family and friends, too. There will be a variety of food and tap trucks, as well as kid-friendly entertainment options including a bounce house, a mobile gaming trailer, and an RC race track. It’s a fun and unique family things to do Labor Day weekend!

Celebrating their 60th year anniversary, the San Luis Obispo Symphony’s Pops-by-the-Sea is returning this Labor Day weekend with music by John Williams, Aaron Copland, John Phillip Sousa, and more under the direction of Maestro Andrew Sewell.
Promising an ‘an afternoon by the sea of sun, fun, and great music’, the Pops-by-the-Sea concert has been running for 30 years now and is loved by music lovers from all over Central Coast. Tickets are available on the SLO Symphony’s website.

If you don’t fancy the SLO Symphony concert or would want to go to a free event instead, head to the Sunken Gardens at Atascadero and watch Marvel’s Eternals under the stars! Bring a low-back chair or a picnic blanket and some pillows for comfort. The movie starts at 8:15 pm.

Here’s a fun and nice thing to do in SLO, whenever you’re around: join the Greener Pastures Farm Sanctuary Tour Day!
The Greener Pastures Farm Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that ‘rescue, rehabilitate, and provide lifelong care for animals saved from neglect situations, kill pens, and factory farms’. You will meet their rescued residents of up close and hear their inspiring stories from the farm’s weekly volunteers during the farm tour.
Be sure to show the animals some love as you visit the farm and get to know them, whether it’s a gently pet or a belly rub. To prevent people from leaving unwanted animals in front of the farm, you need to purchase your tickets before they give you directions to the far.

Spend a relaxing Sunday enjoying good food, good drinks, and good people while listening to Soul Kool, a local band that plays upbeat music from many genres, at Arroyo Grande’s Historic Heritage Square Park.
